ya the Timberwolfe's db rateing has to be 100 inches not feet. That thing is tiny compaired to the Q. The rotor and stator is smaller hince less sound pressure levels.

I question Timberwolf's dB output accuracy.
How can they do it with 1/4 amperage draw of Q?

Does JMEV greatly exaggerate the Q's current draw as 250 amps?
By T1000 (T-1000) he means Thunderbolt or T-bolt 1000.

And I'm sure you know the difference between a 1000T and 1000.

Vehicle siren: Federal Q

Outdoor warning siren: Thunderbolt 1003 or 3T22

Outdoor: Whelen Vortex or any Whelen, 2t22, or T-128

EV: Q2B, Whelens, FS Unitrol, and PA 300

That recording of a Federal 77 Doubletone running on AC was moved to http://www.airraidsirens.com/mp3/y2ksiren.mp3
Personally I like the sound of that siren on AC. You could put in a diode on one side of it to run it half-wave...I'd like to hear if it affects the windup speed.

Well, if I did, I forgot.
Could you please tell me?
I do get these things mixed up.
Is there a site which has them all listed and identified?

T-1003 means it can do three warnings Wail, Steady, Hi-Lo -using valves to open and close the openings from the dual-tone chopper?

That and the 3t22 doing hi-lo during run-up is the most spooky siren sound I have ever heard.

The 2t22 is the most frightening looking siren I recall seeing as a child.
Even today, as an adult who understands it's "megaphones", it still looks kind of evil.

I love dual-tone Thunderbolts (Robert, 1000T is dual-tone, and 1000 or T1000 is single-tone) and P-50's. Best horn: Gamewell Diaphone. Best vehicle siren: I dunno. Maybe FS PA-300?

Hmm... Well, as far as vehicle sirens go, I'd say either the E-Q2B, or the Whelen Executor.

For vehicle sirens, I'd pick the Japanese siren Q2Bman found and posted a video of:

Best tone I've heard.
